Grading for Health Class
Grading is based on class assignments, projects, homework assignments, quizzes, unit tests and citizenship/class participation.
HMS Grading scale:
93-100 = A
90-92 = A-
87-89 = B+
83-86 = B
80-82 = B-
77-79 = C+
73-76 = C
70-72 = C-
67-69 = D+
63-66 = D
60-62 = D-
0-59 = E
Grading for Advanced PE
Participation and Performance Grades
Physical Education class is the perfect environment for learning self-responsibility, for respecting the rights and feelings of others, for learning to be a more cooperative individual, and for learning to respect school property as well as the property of others. These ideals are taught by following the credo of Reason, Respect and Responsibility.
Students can earn 30 points each day by following the 3Rs.
· Class Effort = 5 points
· Changing into Gym Clothes = 5 points
· Behaving Appropriately (following rules of activity) = 5 points
· Good Sportsmanship = 5 points
· Following Directions = 5 points
· Appropriate Clothing = 2 points
· Being on time to class/squad = 3 points
There will be additional skills tests, knowledge tests and other class assignments that will be graded and averaged into the overall grade.
